Meals On Wheels
In 1950, with the War over, the Women's Voluntary Service recognised a peacetime need to take a hot, nourishing meal to folk who found it difficult to provide it for themselves.  Thus "Meals on Wheels" was born and today there are volunteers bringing tasty hot food plus a watchful eye to where it is needed. Volunteers are always wanted. If you can spare a morning once a month, please ring 01903 504070.

The tapestry was designed and worked by Valerie Avellano.

Missions to Seamen
Missions to Seamen is a charity founded in 1856. The local branch in Ferring was formed in 1940.

Monday Keep-Fit Class
The aim of the Ferring Monday Keep-Fit Class is to keep ladies of 50+ mobile with dance and exercise. The group was formed by Maxa about 30 years ago and is always full with the waiting list. Keeping mind and body active, the eldest lady is 93! It is now run in aid of St. Barnabas.

The tapestry square was designed by Barbara Davies and worked by Margaret Lawrence.

Mothers' Union
The Mothers' Union was founded in 1876 by Mary Sumner, a vicar's wife in Old Alresford, Hampshire. Lady Eames is the present World-Wide President.  There are several members of the Mothers' Union in Ferring. It is especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life.

The logo tapestry was copied by Pam Wood and Gladys Ransome sewed it.
